Probate Administration

Probate Administration

When someone dies and leaves property behind, the estate must often be processed through the court using a procedure known as “probate.” This can occur if the deceased died with a will (testate) or without a will (intestate). In many cases, this procedure is both lengthy and complicated. It can also be emotionally exhausting when the people involved in the case are already dealing with grief.

Lisa A. Blundon, PC has experience with both types of probate proceedings in the state of Oregon. Whether you are dealing with a small, uncomplicated estate or a larger estate, the firm can help you deal with the matter as quickly and affordably as possible.

About Probate in Oregon

Probate is a procedure established by the state of Oregon to process and close a deceased person’s estate. During this procedure, the court will validate the deceased person’s will if they died with a will, or manage and distribute the estate assets based on the laws in Oregon for intestate succession. The individual appointed by the court to represent the estate is known as the personal representative (Executor) and they will act as estate administrator and oversee the payment of debts and distribution of assets in accordance with the terms in the will or the applicable law.

Standard Probate Proceedings

Standard probate proceedings can take many months to complete, and there are a variety of requirements that must be met before the estate can be closed. If you have been named as the personal representative of a deceased person’s estate, Lisa A. Blundon will help guide you to satisfy all of the requirements of the law, fulfill the deceased individual’s wishes as stated in the will, and complete the probate process as efficiently as possible.
